Este enfoque aborda la construcción metodológica de la historia de la fotografía, desde sus orígenes en el siglo XIX hasta el siglo XXI, con énfasis tanto en su evolución técnica como en su desarrollo estético y discursivo. Se examinan críticamente los principales autores, movimientos, géneros y corrientes iconográficas, considerando las múltiples formas de interpretación visual a lo largo del tiempo. Asimismo, se abordan los distintos procesos vinculados a la conservación, catalogación, salvaguarda y recuperación del patrimonio fotográfico, atendiendo a sus dimensiones materiales, documentales y culturales.
History of Photography: Theory, Criticism, and Conservation. This approach explores the methodological construction of the history of photography, from its origins in the 19th century to the 21st century, with an emphasis on both its technical evolution and its aesthetic and discursive development. It critically examines major authors, movements, genres, and iconographic trends, taking into account the multiple forms of visual interpretation throughout time. Likewise, it addresses the various processes involved in the conservation, cataloging, safeguarding, and recovery of photographic heritage, paying attention to its material, documentary, and cultural dimensions.
